Fado has always been an important part of the life of Teresa Siqueira, who was destined to become a fado singer and performs with great conviction. She came to this form of music, first of all through the influence of her relatives Maria Teresa de Noronha and Dom Vicente da Câmara, but also through the encouragement of friends such as Maria da Fé, Beatriz da Conceição and Carlos Zel. Later, she built up her own career as a fado singer – performing at such fado houses as Senhor Vinho and her own particular home of the Taverna do Embuçado. She has sung at such venues as the Coliseu dos Recreios, Europália, Macau and in the Festa do Fado, also transmitting the same love for fado to her children Carminho, Francisco and Rodrigo Rebelo de Andrade. On 27 November 2012, she was distinguished by Lisbon Municipal Council with the award of the Medal of Merit – Gold Level.
