Pedro Moutinho is one of the leading names in contemporary fado. His balanced voice is steeped in the legacy of tradition, having been shaped over the years in fado houses where he learned from the great masters. But he also ventures into more modern terrain, working with the best poets of the present day and the great musicians who are currently keeping alive this intangible world heritage. Pedro Moutinho is preparing a new and artistically ambitious work for 2016, in which he will once again sing the most carefully chosen words enveloped in the sounds produced by the most demanding hands of the cream of fado musicians. The experienced António Pinheiro da Silva will be responsible for transforming these ideas bubbling up in the mind of Pedro Moutinho into a magnificent fado sound. And, once again, this live performance promises to bring us the unsurpassable magic of an art that is most definitely felt, but that it is so hard to explain. Pedro Moutinho’s voice, situated between the historical past and the promising future, is undoubtedly one of our greatest treasures.
